January Randomalities...

  • I have been doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred and Yoga Meltdown. I haven't ever watched The Biggest Loser so I'm not a big Jillian fan, but that girl knows how to whip your booty. And then keep you coming back for more.
  • Speaking of Biggest Loser, my work is doing a BL-type challenge.  I signed up, and to get in the spirit of it gave up soda and started the above videos. Had some big hopes.
  • Then I got on the scale and I had gained 2 pounds. Who is really the biggest loser?
  • Did I mention that I gave up soda? Only to gain 2 pounds? Pounds I was able to keep off during Christmas when I positively drowned myself in soda every day?
  • Grr.  Enough about that.
  • But wait: Thomas likes to do the yoga video with me.  I laugh every time I hear him say "I think she's trying to kill us, mom!  Jillian, it hurts!" Hilarious.
  • After an enlightening conversation with my sister, I realized that the fact that I find 99.9% of people in the world annoying, the problem may lie with me, not them. And that my lovely inhaler might be the culprit.  I lessened my dose a little (with doctor's approval).  We'll see if the good mood I've had today continues....
  • I am loving the January thaw.  I want my bulbs to come up! I want spring!
  • In case you were wondering, the cats have figured out the new cat door and are using it to it's fullest. Hallelujah!
  • I got some new pj's for Christmas.  I want to spend every waking moment in them.  Is this behavior normal for a 30 something?  I can understand my five-year-old doing it, but....well, regardless, more people have caught me in them lately than I care to admit.  One lady stopped by two Fridays in a row and both times I was wearing them. Lovely.
  • I am trying to find a book to read. Any suggestions? Where have all the good books gone, huh?  What are you reading these days?

I love my new jammies as well, and lets just say Jeff is too nice to beg me to take them off;) I love it! I am too big of a baby to get on the scale, I can just see that I have gained at least 2 pounds this month, when I was (by some miracle) able to lose 3 from Thanksgiving to January 1st. I hope I'm not annoying to you:) Love ya! Good luck with Jillian.

hmmmm....might have to look for that DVD! I've been doing spin 3x a week, finally, which has been good but I feel like I need to add something extra. Does Dance Revolution on the Wii count??? ;)

If I don't have to be anywhere, I wear my pjs. I've stopped caring. I want to be comfy. And warm!

Books...hmmmmm. Can i think about it? I have 2.5 billion checked out from the library but none that I am absolutely loving.

Hang in there. I hope i'm not part of the 99% of the world...Spring will come!!!

99.9%? Eeeks. I hope I'm not annoying you. But, I am fully aware of the common denominator principle. Hope that lesser dosage works:)

See...the way I see weight is when you're already at a good, healthy weight, like you are, who cares about going up and down two pounds. I hope when I am at a healthy weight, I can have the mindset that instead of the number on the scale, I want to feel good in my clothes, or know that my heart is healthy etc. I have heard good things about the 30-Day shred.

My reading style has been severely crippled with my early mornings. The Lonely Polygamist by Brady Udall was a really enjoyable book. I'm reading Wolf Hall right now and enjoying it, though it's kind of complicated, especially at my rate of picking it up and putting it down (often). Next, I'm reading that book about Henrietta Lacks.

Hi! I'm right with you. I work out for one hour everyday, and I'm GAINING WEIGHT!!! Ugh! And don't tell me it's muscle mass because my pants are getting tighter, and I don't think that's what muscle mass does!

I, too, get annoyed with 99% of the world, but I don't use an inhaler. Please diagnose me because I'm pretty sure I need something other than my natural irritable disposition to blame it on.

Have you ever read Pope Joan? I used it for SDBBE a few rounds ago, and you're welcome to borrow it if you want. Your friend Lucy hated it, but Amy liked it.... unless she lied to make me feel good. I have my suspicions. Ha ha!

"Year of Wonders" by Geraldine Brooks. You will love it. If you do, write about it in a post as I don't have a blog for you to respond to. I've been following you and your sister's blogs for a long time as I love the books you post about. I am reading Lavinia right now. Thanks for always sharing your recommendations.
