I knew it would happen some day...

The relationship started back in 1997.  My oldest niece was 11; my youngest 2.  It was an unlikely match from the start; I knew it, and he knew it.  But we lasted for over 12 long years together. Until yesterday morning, that is.  He looked ok, but then wasn't.  There wasn't even a final sputter; just a flash of white smoke, a smell of burning, and he was gone.

Long live the memory of my hair dryer.  His long life can be attributed to many, many mornings of skipping showers and wearing ponytails.  He was always there when I needed him, though.  I've known the end was coming for some time now; I prayed on Christmas morning that it wouldn't be the day.  My prayer was answered, and he died unauspiciously on February 8, 2010.

I can't even remember what brand he was, but dang it, I appreciated him and his cool shot button, the detachable defuser (by whom he is survived), the melted-on plastic from being set on the bag of cottonballs while still hot.

I will never forget.

That was one old hair dryer. Twelve years?!? I replace mine about every 8-10 months.

Britt replaces her hair dryer every 8-10 months? Is she for real? She needs to get one with a warranty. My hair dryer is from my first year college. For reals.

Maybe they just don't make them anymore like they used to?

I am not sure what gender my blow dryer is, but I am certain I have had it longer than I've had Kaleb...

I'm a quick dryer, though (another reason my dryers last forever: wispy thin hair). I think the biggest workout the poor thing ever got was blowing dry that book...

oh man, lucky girl!

There is a DARLING hair dryer at Target, it's pink with white polka dots and it makes my heart go pitter pat, but alas, I can't justify the $20 since I don't actually USE a hair dryer *sigh*

I get a new dryer when my starts chewing my hair. Usually every couple of years. I'm impressed with your blow dryer's longevity.
